RELIGION THAT DOESN’T DIVIDE PEOPLE

Beyond all the political, economic and social problems that there may be, Albania is a nation unique in the world and the Albanians are amazing people!

When you go to Albania for the first time and get in touch with the locals, you immediately understand that you are in a land where values ​​still resist, where traditions are very present and where concepts such as respect, honesty and family still have enormous importance.

Religion is also very important but in a completely different way from the rest of the world.

In Albania, Catholic Christians, Orthodox Christians, Muslims and Bektashi convince, but the beauty is that religious affiliation is not a reason for discrimination. Everyone is simply free to profess their religious faith in the places of worship that represent it. In fact, in the cities we find Catholic churches, Orthodox churches and mosques, we can hear the midday bells and a few hours after the call of the muezzin.

ALBANITY THAT UNITES

Alongside those who, with more or less ardor, follow their religion, there is a large percentage of the population that is totally atheistic, the legacy of the dictator Enver Hoxha who in 1967 declared state atism after years of fierce fury against any religious form.

There is a way to say: the religion of Albanians is Albanianity, which is still true, despite personal beliefs. Each Albanian is first and foremost an Albanian and remains so even if he lived hundreds of km far from his land for years and alsol his children will be, perhaps born in a foreign country. A very strong sense of belonging.

IN ALBANIA NOT JUST THE ALBANIAN IS SPOKEN

The national language is Albanian which is spoken, more or less equal, throughout the nation. 

Saying it in a very simplistic way, from north to south what changes is the pronunciation of some vowels and the use of typical expressions of the various areas. Obviously from the profane ear that hears the Albanian for the first time, these differences are not perceived.

But in Albania we do not only speak Albanian, young people under 30 speak very well also in English, therefore the tourist, of any nationality, in Albania will never feel lost and excluded because the Albanians will certainly know how to communicate.
